This is a newsletter published three times a year that considers contemporary trends in the SFBT community. We aim to build and unite the Canadian SFBT community, provide inspirational and provocative interviews with SF experts, book reviews, articles, "clinical pearls" and upcoming events.
Geri, Dina and Mark are AAMFT approved supervisors and have provided clinical supervision for graduate level students from numerous universities across North America. These students have hailed from such varying disciplines as social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy and pastoral counseling. We provide supervision for those seeking clinical fellowship with AAMFT, CCPC, and the Ontario College of Psychotherapists. Supervision options range from individual, dyadic and groups.
SFBT is designed to help people rediscover who they are in order to facilitate the change that is hoped for. These sessions are strength-based and typically focus on the present and the future. Therapists only focus on the past to help understand the clients' concerns. SFBT therapists use a variety of precicely constructed questions to facilitate a meaningful and change focused conversation.
